EVP Recorder

Records short takes from your microphone and keeps them on the device in IndexedDB. Each take can be replayed slowed, reversed or filtered, and scanned offline for segments whose audio resembles speech: energy above the take's own noise floor, tonal structure, and a centroid in the speech range.

The scan describes the audio; it does not identify anything. Two device modes give the same engine a tape-deck layout and a modern analysis suite. Nothing is uploaded, and the note beside every automatic marker explains exactly what the heuristic measured.

Takes are stored in your browser and survive a reload, so a session can be reviewed later. The retro deck presents reels, a level meter and transport keys; the modern suite adds a spectrogram, a marker list and region looping over the same recordings and the same analysis.

This is an instrument and a sound tool, provided for entertainment and experiment. It describes what it measures and does not identify the cause of anything it shows.
