Anomaly Scanner

A Geiger-style counter whose click rate follows magnetic intensity, built as a late-1990s instrument: segmented displays, analogue meters, rocker switches, a power-on self test and a DOS-style diagnostics terminal. Clicks come from an AudioWorklet using Poisson arrivals with a tube dead time, so the rhythm behaves like a real counter rather than a metronome.

The count responds to your device magnetometer where one exists and to a clearly labelled simulation where it does not. A rising rate means the measured field is changing; it is not a measurement of radiation and not evidence of anything.

This is an instrument and a sound tool, provided for entertainment and experiment. It describes what it measures and does not identify the cause of anything it shows.
