Nine imaging modes run as a single-pass WebGL fragment shader over your camera feed: heat map, night vision, edge detection, static, low-light gain and more. Each is real image processing on the live frames, with a HUD, CRT treatment, and capture to photo or video.
Video never leaves your device - the shader runs on your GPU and captures are written locally. The modes change how the image is rendered, which means anything unusual you see is a product of the processing you selected, the lens, or the room.
No. Phone cameras see visible light, not heat. The HEAT mode maps brightness to a thermal-style colour palette, and the display says SIMULATED — NOT THERMAL. A real thermal camera needs a dedicated infrared sensor.
No. EDGE is edge detection: it highlights sharp changes in brightness, which gives an X-ray-like look. It cannot see through anything.
No. Night vision and low light boost whatever light the camera does receive. In complete darkness there is nothing to amplify, only sensor noise. Real night-vision cameras add infrared illumination, which phones do not provide.
No. Captures are created in your browser and downloaded directly to your device.
Processed, noisy images invite the eye to find faces and figures — visual pareidolia. Gain, noise and edge effects all increase it. Compare with NORM mode at the same moment before reading anything into a shape.
